Logger Components

Logging Terminal The Logging Terminal This gets messages from the Controller via an RS-232 cable. It displays then, inserts a time tag and records then on a Secure Digital module. It is located on the top of the "Cradle".
Controller The Controller acquires digital security events and analog environmental measurements and buffers them before assembling into messages which it then sends to the Logging Termiall. Most of these signals are obtained from the Adapter. It is located on the bottom of the "Cradle".
Adapter The Adapter acquires digital security signals and analog environmental signals using connectors, an RF receiver, and signal cnditioning interfaces. It connects to the Controller by a cable. It is located at the back of the "Cradle".
Adapter The Patio Sensor Box acquires digital security signals from the spa and analog environmental signals using connectors and signal cnditioning interfaces. It connects to the Adapter by a cable. It is located behind a painting on the wall of the house.
Gate transmitter The Gate transmitter detects opening and closing of the gate leading to the rear of our house. It transmits to the Adapter.
Solar Transmitter The Solar Sensor is used to measure temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, solar panel charging current and battery voltage. It sends this information to the Adapter as two serial messages by RF. It is located outside in a protected location.
Driveway Patroll The Driveway Patrol is a motion detector with a transmitter connected by RF to a receiver. The transmitter is located on the path leading to the rear of our house. The receiver is next to the Adapter, which contains an interface for it.
Gas Sensor The Gas Sensor imeasures the consentration of gases including CO and methane and periodically transmits messages with the measurements.
It is described here.
